On the Cheap: Auckland - Piha
Auckland on the Cheap #1: Piha
Time to destination: Just under an hour, traffic dependent
Cost: Free
Stop off at the Mercer Bay Loop Walk, just before you head into Piha, on Te Ahu Ahu road. Continue onto Log Race road until you get right to the end. This track should take about an hour, with plenty of photo opportunties and views from Muriwai to Whatipu.
Next stop is Kitekite falls for a dip! Head down into Piha, and turn into Glenesk road. Head right to the end of the road and park up. The water fall should take about 20 minutes to walk to, and is safe to swim in. For the more adventurous, find the track that leads to the top of the falls and have a swim in the secret infinity pools!
Now head to the beach to watch an awesome Piha sunset and some food!
