On the Cheap: Auckland - Glenfield Night Market

On the Cheap: Auckland - Glenfield Night Market

Time from Auckland CBD: 15 minutes driving, traffic dependent

Cost: $15 will put you into a food coma

Auckland night markets are a like entering another world. Based in underground car parks, with around 80 food vendors, these markets are found all over the city, 6 nights a week. They are such a fun and cheap way to sample a wide selection of the weird and wonderful food you usually wouldn't dare too! You'll be struggling what to eat next! There is a huge variety of food on offer - Indian, Japanese, Chinese, French, Hungarian, Korean, German, Italian etc. Whatever you're craving, you'll find it!

Must try:

Lalele Organic Gelato and Sobert - A recent sell out at the Auckland Lantern Festival, this ice cream loving team really knows a thing or two about cold treats. As a self-claimed cold treat connoisseur, I can safely say this is the best cold treat I have ever tasted. My personal favourite is the blueberry and coconut ice block. They have been so successful, they are opening a new store on 20th March on Beach road, Mairangi Bay. YUM!

Freshi - Freshi offer a modern take on traditional Japanese food. You will be drawn in by their colourful stall and creative food presentation, as it is the best at the markets! Freshi are regular sell outs too, so get in while it's hot!

Enjoy :)
